CASE STUDY: 9/11 AND MH370

In this case study I will be telling the difference that how Media, Journalism and Technology have changed and how media did coverage on 9/11 and the missing flight MH370 incident. 

On September 11, in 2001 many attacks happened in United States of America in New York known as 9/11, which they thought that it was done by Islamic terrorist group Al-Qaeda, where they attacked four passenger planes which were hijacked by 19 hijackers. Two planes flew and hit into the north and south towers of (The World Trade Centre), whereas the 3rd plane crashed into the pentagon and fourth crashed into the United States Capitol Building in Washington, this plane was forced to crash in the fields near Pennsylvania. In this suicide attack almost 3,000 people were killed from all over the world in world trade centre Twin Tower and Pentagon.

8th March 2014 Malaysian Airlines MH370 incident happened. Where MH370 Boeing 777 went missing carrying 239 passengers on-board, it lost its contact with air traffic control less than an hour after takeoff while in route to Beijing, China from Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The plane lost its contact while crossing over the Vietnamese sea. This news spread really fast through social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other online news websites. Everyone was shocked with the news that what had just happened how can such a huge plane Boeing 777 can lost a contact and no one knows that where the plane is. How can it lose a contact when we have so many communication devices and we can do anything with the fast technology but sadly no one can do anything and no one knows where the plane is until now. 

So, you guys want to know what the difference between these two case studies is and how the technology has changed. In 9/11 when that incident happened the news didn't spread that fast like we got the news about MH370 through social media, that news spread really fast. We got news about 9/11 from television because at that time technology was not that advanced, so we had to wait for the news to appear on the television first only then we knew about 9/11. Whereas nowadays technology is so much advanced, like we heard the news of MH370 on Facebook really fast, and nowadays we can read anything through social media and from the articles as you know that now we can see pictures and videos while reading the article.

But as we can see technology is getting advanced day by day, and with this people are taking advantages and disadvantages of technology, like there are many rumors that spread false news around social media which we don't really know whether that news is right or wrong. We cannot trust anyone because people male stories by themselves like that, there are many rumors so, we should wait for the news to be officially published first then spread it to your friends and family.
